Our Story

The Assisi Project is a collaborative project of Mary Garrahy (mlgcreative) and Michael O'Donoghue.

The Assisi Cards line is hoped to be the first of many other lines of cards and art/giftware.

Mary

MARY Garrahy “gushes” over the memory of visiting Assisi, Italy, as though her 2006 trip was “just yesterday” because it “spoke" to her spirit. The engagingly creative mother of three found herself photographing “the rocks, the grass, the stones, the wildflowers and the bark on the trees.” In response she has recently launched The Assisi Project- a collection of gift cards linked to faith in God and the sacraments of the Church. It’s no surprise that Mary, who said God was her “rock," had a “heart" response from being in Assisi.

Michael

I have long been inspired by St. Franics of Assisi, in his ability to see God in all of nature. A visit to Assisi in 1996 confirmed my admiration for who St. Franics was. To wander around Assisi it was easy to feel the special prescence of the surrounding. So, when I knew my sister-in-law was to visit Assisi with a camera, I knew it was a great opportunity to capture the inspiration that Assisi brings. I have long been inspired by St. Francis of Assisi, in his ability to see God in all of nature.
